Installation

Care and Maintenance We recommend that floor mats are used at entrances to the property - this will help avoid abrasive particles damaging the surface, Self-adhesive pads and castor cups should be fitted to furniture to avoid scratching where applicable. Note: Heavy scratching could break the seal on the flooring causing damage, Move furniture carefully to avoid damaging the top layer surface, General cleaning of the floor should be done using a soft broom or vacuum cleaner, A well rung out mop can also be used periodically, however avoid the use of excess water, Do not use steam mops or cleaners, Do not use abrasive cleaning materials: scouring powders, steel wool, metal brushes etc., Do not leave standing water on the floor, wipe up any spills immediately, Do not use cleaning agents containing wax, polish or oil, Direct sunlight may have an effect on the colour of the floor over a period of time, Use the floor exclusively under the recommended conditions outlined in the instructions

Important Notes Remove all previous floor coverings, Moisture test must be carried out for all mineral based substrates (2.0 CM % for cement screed and 0.5 CM % for sulphate screed), a relative air humidity of about 40-75% should be maintained, Sealed packs must be stored for at least 48 hours where they are to be laid, Must leave 12mm expansion gap around the entire floor including cabinet legs, radiator pipes and door frames, The maximum area without additional expansion joints is 8m width x 8m length, High performance Underlay (XPS) is not suitable when using underfloor heating, For timber based sub-floor, lay Bitumen Moisture Barrier Paper, Use SDH0900 - Howdens 2mm Foam underlay & SDH0909 High Performance Underlay (XPS)*, * Not with underfloor heating

Installation Notes Make sure that you apply a flooring joint sealer (SDH0099) down the long & the short profile before clicking together - (and wipe away any excess immediately after clicking together) - in order to achieve optimum moisture resistance, Not suitable for wet rooms or saunas, Perimeter of floor should be sealed with flexible sealant

Laying Detail Must be laid as a floating floor (see instructions)

Underfloor Heating Detail Floor temperature must not exceed 80°F / 27°C. Turn the heat off for 24 hours before, during and 24 hours after installation when installing over radiant heated subfloors. Before installing over newly constructed radiant heat systems, operate the system at maximum capacity to force any residual moisture from the cementitious topping of the radiant heat system. Make sure that the temperature in the room is maintained consistent between 70-80°F / 20-25°C before and during the installation.
