Howdens poor service and lack of environmental conscience

Very disappointed with service. I purchased a kitchen through my builder. Unfortunately one set of drawers were not suitable. The kitchen had been planned by Howdens and the builder. It did not make sufficient allowance for a walkway between the stairs and the base unit. It has had to be replaced with a smaller unit to allow for a safe walkway. This has cost me £815 extra. Howdens have refused to take the base unit back, despite the fact that it has not been modified I.e. other than putting the slide rails for the drawers in it is as new. I feel disappointed as I am left with something that I didn’t need, I cannot get rid of the unit other than take it to the dump, which is not very environmentally friendly.

I just had a small kitchen and the units were also in small measurements I was expecting the size of the sink in the appropriate size and my fitter did struggle to adjust.

I had a mixed experience with Howdens at the Wimbledon South Merton branch. The staff, including Marcus and Luis, were friendly and professional, and the kitchen design with Gary turned out well. However, I faced issues with a brand-new dishwasher that didn’t work initially, causing some distress. To their credit, the team responded quickly, arranging for an engineer to fix the problem efficiently. Overall, it's a decent place with room for improvement in product quality checks.
