As a tradesman who has had accounts over the last 30 years with various companies, I can in all honesty say that having only been an account holder with Howdens for a couple of weeks that I have been short changed elsewhere, staff attention to detail and helpfulness has been enlightening.

Dream kitchen
Paul has been absolutely brilliant from start to finish. The design we wanted was adapted to the space we had & the end result is just perfect. It really is the dream Kitchen we hoped for, thanks to the excellent service from Paul.

Mistake after mistake. Improvements needed.
The number of mistakes at the Cwmdu branch for my flooring order was not ideal. First the wrong laminate underlay was sent despite me giving the product codes, then the wrong number of threshold bars, not enough glue was sent, then I received a dozen separate invoices for items rather than putting them all on one for simplicity, due to that I then received payment requests for items that staff had put through on my account after I had already paid for my orders in full so I got various reminders for payment. Which after various emails to clarify all of the above, nobody responded! I also couldn’t check what was on my account because the branch also haven’t approved my online account to log in, and I still can’t log in to it today. Furthermore, when placing my orders I was placed on hold various times during the call (after I asked for each item) which is pretty poor customer service skills and was quite rude. Just take the whole order, repeat it back and get it right first time rather than assuming (or hoping) the item I’ve asked for is the last of the order. No wonder why so many things went wrong. Not a great first experience, and a lot of customer service improvements could be made. Is this what I can expect with future orders…? Only time will tell.

We used the store in Cwmdu in Swansea. Really easy and straight forward to book appointment, choose the design and book to have the kitchen fitted. Really happy with the quality and finish. The design has made the best use of the space . Paul the designer is really helpful and customer care is great!

Wardrobe doors from Howdens
Great service from start to finish. I had new wardrobe doors fitted in two bedrooms. Paul Penhale from Howdens visited my home to measure up in both bedrooms. The doors and the colours were just what I wanted. We are thrilled with the look and the service 100%

Kitchen Designer Paul Penhale provided…
Kitchen Designer Paul Penhale provided me excellent customer service at the Cwmdu Branch which was followed up with a home visit. He provided us various different designs which we would not have considered. The kitchen was fitted by Rob Harris who was very professional and did a great job fitting it. Paul Penhale continued with an excellent service throughout the fit and on completion to ensure we were happy with everything. I would recommend Paul Penhale of Cwmdu Howdens to design the kitchen as you will get a professional service. We are very happy with the kitchen. Thank you.

Absolutely thrilled with our new kitchen.
Having visited two other well known kitchen companies they definitely could not compare to Howdens Cwmdu, Swansea! From beginning to end we couldn’t fault the service received from Paul Penhale. Paul listened to exactly what we wanted and produced detailed plans within days. Nothing was ever too much trouble for him. His knowledge and professionalism was first class. A big thank you to Paul and everyone working at Howdens Cwmdu, Swansea. Absolutely thrilled with our new kitchen.

Exceed expectations on design, installation and cost.
Howdens was one of three companies that we approached to create a new kitchen, fitted wardrobes and flooring. The design created by Paul Penhale at the Cwmdu branch was outstanding and far better than than the other dessins we received and the cost was also lower that the other estimates. The installation by Rob Harris also went without a hitch and the finished product exceeded expectations. The whole experience in working with the Howden's team was outstanding and is highly recommended.

I highly recommend this business especially Paul penhale from the Cwmdu branch Swansea. His customer service is second to none. He exceeding our expectations every time We was completely impressed with his professionalism and customer service. Pricing is fair and transparent - definitely value for money. After paying for the kitchen it was delivered within a week. He has kept in contact through out and is calling to check out the work after having it fitted today. Always used Howdens! Great prices, carry a huge amount of Stock! Go above and beyond to help as they didn't have a drawer front but sourced one from another depot! Brilliant!

We recently purchased a new kitchen…
We recently purchased a new kitchen from Howdens. The kitchen was planned and designed by Paul Penhale, who created the kitchen we wanted by incorporating our requirements with his own suggestions based on his design experience. The whole process was seamless and quick and within a fortnight our kitchen was transformed into a beautiful, modern room that my wife and I were absolutely thrilled with. The kitchen fitter Rob Harris did a superb job of removing the old units, floor and wall tiles and installing the new units, adding/moving electrical sockets and laying a new floor. I couldn't recommend the whole experience highly enough.

A complete shambles
Half of Kitchen units were delivered wrong from the design, told corner cupboard was correct but realised it wasn't once I started assembling it. Sent back pile of cupboards, received some more incorrect ones, sent some more back, waited and waited, told things were going to arrive, didn't. Some items turned up with a delivery note, some didn't. Some things were damaged. Phone call after phone call trying to resolve. I had a customer in tears with the added time I was spending, chasing it and they still didn't have a kitchen. Eventually had the correct items delivered, and was finally able to complete the kitchen, and then Howdens were saying that I owed them over £3000 after the customer had paid £9500 for the kitchen and all the items we had sent back. A year later they are still saying I owe them money, and have even frozen my account. I have had meetings, phone calls and email trails, I have spent hours trawling through bits of tattered invoices, credits and days rattling my brain to remember what had been sent back, and it's not even my problem.Design errors, Warehouse handling errors, customer service appalling. I have had a really bad experience. I won't recommend Howdens to anyone, a complete an utter shambles!

Waste of time
Had a kitchen designer come to our house and then we went to their office (Fforestfach) for a consultation on the design they came up with. This is a decent sized kitchen and the design was adjusted a bit to our ideas. All good so far. We went away with a promise that our quote would be emailed to us in a couple of days. Didn't arrive. Phoned - said they'd email again - didn't arrive. Phoned again - he checked our email address - still no quote. Phoned and asked to speak to designer - these are some of the excuses - not in, in meeting, out on appointment and so on. Left a message for him to call us back each time - never happened. So six weeks after our consultation at their office and eight weeks in total we are still without a quote. Decided that if their service is this poor at the quote stage what will they be like when we actually want it delivered? - won't take the risk so going elsewhere.
